Why you should blog.
Yes, I can hear you saying ‘I haven’t got time to blog’, ‘what’s the point’, ‘ I don’t know what to write about’ (Yep because that was me) and so on and so forth, but here’s the thing – Blogging brings visitors to your website and it also creates a relationship between you and your website visitors.
I started a blog back in 2016 and with the relaunch of the Pretty Divi Theme Shop, I have decided that it was time to make time to establish a credible brand in terms of conveying my knowledge of business, the Divi theme, design practices and how to actually grow a successful business and this is where the new blog comes in.
My business thus far has rocketed over the last 5 years (sans the blog which I hid) – probably due to the fact you can see my work as a designer and people are actively looking for Divi themes. BUT, people also have questions and I am qualified to answer them and so are you.
Set aside an hour to post on your blog.
Yes, I hear you – no time, but make time. All I want to do is design, because to me creating a pixel perfect Divi Child Theme is what I do, but here I am. I have always thought that my writing sounds contrived (worlds worst self proclaimed critic here) but when I have gotten going, it all kind of comes together and meets the objective of having a presence in real terms on the internet.
What to write about
You are an expert in your field, aren’t you? You are also the person who knows your business inside out, so write about things you do in your business everyday, about how you create your products or ask your social media followers what they would really like to know.
If the topics you want to write about are huge and you don’t want to have a 10 000 word post, break it down into bite sized content and get your visitors to subscribe to your email sign up, where you can email them the next post relating to your content.
If you use these simple easy tips, you will easily gain a following and establish yourself as a credible entrepreneur with your readers needs at heart.
